Slide 1

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.
Viktor Frankl

Slide 2

A person is a fluid process, not a fixed and static entity; a flowing river of change, not a block of solid material; a continually changing constellation of potentialities, not a fixed quantity of traits.
Carl Rogers

Education comes from the Latin prefix e- and the verb ducere, meaning to lead forth. Education is about creating the condition where the student can lead forth his/her full potential

Teacher Effectiveness Training

Teacher Effectiveness Training’s goal is to foster the classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and personal development. The teaching time increases as class becomes less and less a battlefield between teacher and students.

The philosophy of Dr. Gordon concerning the classroom is based on the idea that the traditional classroom management techniques are based on authority and in the long run are ineffective. On the other hand the use of praise and rewards teach the children to work for those rather than love learning. Other kids do not jump on the reward wagon because they feel they do not deserve it.

Effective classroom management is based on the teacher student relationship which in turn is determined by the effectiveness of communication. Improving this relationship diminishes the time needed to disciplining the class and dealing with bullying.

Teacher Effectiveness Training benefits all grade level teachers, kindergarten teacher as well as yoga instructors, coaches and anyone who is in a teaching role.

Teacher Effectiveness Training is held in English and Greek and is taught once a year at the beginning of the school year. Each workshop is comprised of 10-12 three hour meetings. After the completion of a workshop participants are offered follow up meetings to effectively support change.
